Sleeping Problem Causes and Cures

These days, it is not uncommon for people to have a sleeping problem such as insomnia. There are a number of things that can cause these problems, and in order to cure them it is best to figure out what the root of the problem is. Insomnia can mean one of two things, either not being able to fall asleep, or not being able to stay asleep. Not getting enough sleep can cause other health problems, so it is best to try to find a cure or sleep remedy. No matter how old or young you are you could at some time suffer from this sort of problem.


A person with a sleeping problem has trouble getting the amount of sleep they need to feel awake and alert and function well. Even though they are tired, they still may not be able to drop off to sleep when they have a chance. Other people tend to wake up too often throughout the night so they don't get enough quality sleep. There are many internal and external issues that can lead to insomnia, but once you figure out what is causing your problem you should be able to treat it relatively quickly.


Some people might resort to sleeping aids in order to try to solve their sleeping problem, but this is really not a cure. In order to truly cure this condition you need to figure out why you are having trouble sleeping in the first place. Then you can address the causes and solve the problem. One thing to consider is the types of medications that you are taking, since a number of different medicines can interfere with your sleeping patterns. Check with your doctor to see if this might be the case with you, and, if so, if you can switch to a different medication without this side effect. Other common causes of this sort of problem include anxiety, depression, stress, recent life changes, and hormonal changes.


For some people, relaxation and stress relief techniques can help them to cure their insomnia. Addressing the cause of any anxiety or getting treated for any hormonal imbalance or depression can also help.

  1. When my son was 23 years old, he developed chronic insomnia, having consistent sleeplessness. This had made him tremendously suffer from great tension and devastating health. He was suffering from a life resulting from a lot of bad choices he made as a messed up person. He was addicted pleasing others. I let the doctors put him on drugs. After going through a lot of drugs, this is what he ended up on daily for a few years: (enough to put down an elephant): 3 mg Ativan, 900 mg Seroquel, 300 mg Topamax, 3 mg Klonopin. I would follow anyone’s advices that came along my path. I had tried my very best and every method for him to be cured of insomnia, but unsuccessful. I therefore had stopped seeking any treatments for him to take any pills or medicine, and turned to live sarcastically ruined life instead. He ended up in a 4 day stay at a mental hospital because I was afraid he would kill himself. They also took him to receive treatments as far as china in the hope that his severe sleeplessness would be healed. However, his insomnia problems were still unsolved despite an enormous pile of pills plus Chinese herbal medicine he had taken.
